Is a unique initiative, a brain child of our Principal, activated to co-ordinate the academic curriculum for the entire year.
The primary objective of the committee is to enrich the student with a high standard of learning and to ensure academic discipline.
Committee plans the calendar of academic events for the complete year, keeping the guidelines given by the P.U Board, Bengaluru.
The committee under the guidance of Principal, Vice Principal and in coordination with all departments, sets up the syllabus target for tests and exams and also recommends the preferable dates of tests, exams and practical sessions.
SJPUC’s Academic excellence committee works in synergy with the committee of social concern and character formation to strike on the right balance in the complete formation of a student and also for the smooth conduct of the classes.
To enhance and ignite intellectual curiosity in students and to enable them to do academic reference work, the library is well equipped with more than eleven thousand volumes including encyclopedias, dictionaries, books on general knowledge, journals and question papers of previous years tests and examination. The library is computerized to facilitate the process.
Students who have opted for PCMB/E/C, CEBA and CSBA combinations will have practical classes. Each practical class is of 2 hours duration. A student will lose 2hrs of attendance if he fails to attend a practical class.
The record book should be submitted on time and attested by respective batch teachers and the HOD. Students must submit completed record books duly attested by the teachers on the day of Final Practical Examination.
Fine for breakages in the laboratory should be paid at the College Fee Counter. Hall tickets for the Final Board examination will not be issued unless all dues are cleared.
Students are periodically evaluated based on their academic performance and are awarded on the ‘college day’. Students who secure high distinction and those wards scoring highest in individual subjects are awarded.
Needy students can borrow books from the book bank on a long term basis. The borrowed books must be returned to the book bank in good condition at the end of the academic year before the hall tickets for the Board examination are issued. Books lost, damaged or defaced should be either replaced or the cost of the books as assessed by librarian should be paid for.
The management provides scholarships to deserving students. I and II years PU students, who excel in academics and whose conduct is exemplary are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
We believe that parents and guardians are our collaborators in bringing about holistic growth and development of their wards. We expect the parents and the guardians to co-operate with college authorities by enforcing discipline and regularities in their wards. They are also requested to encourage their wards to devote time for home study.
The department of counselling provides career guidance to the students in their area of interest. Well, qualified career counsellors cater to the needs of the students with respect to their choice of future studies and career choice. The counsellors educate them about the career prospects in every sphere and help students keep abreast of the evolution in their area of interest.
