  • Guardians of the Ghats – A Living Museum Experience Workshop

    • 29 Nov 2025

The Guardians of the Ghats programme, held on 29 November 2025 by the Greater Bengaluru Authority, began with an address by Mr. Vishwa R. Surya, who emphasized the importance of the Western Ghats and the value of understanding biodiversity through direct observation. The classroom was transformed into a living biodiversity museum, where students examined real specimens such as tree barks to learn about species adaptations and ecological interactions. A biodiversity quiz helped assess and reinforce their learning, followed by a short debate on conservation challenges and individual responsibilities in protecting threatened ecosystems. The programme concluded with students sharing their reflections, demonstrating enhanced ecological awareness and a deeper appreciation of the conservation needs of the Western Ghats.
