3. The event began with the lighting of the lamp and prayer in the morning. This is an activity based training program for promoting gender equitable attitudes among adolescent boys in PU colleges as an initiative from the government of Karnataka.
100 students from first and second PUC actively participated in the enriching sessions. Resource persons from the department of psychiatric social work, NIMHANS conducted the programme and gave insights about comparisons between sex and gender. Also through various activities and interactions conducted by the trainers, the students now have a deeper understanding of gender stereotypes, equal previliges, gender bias, gender based violence, gender accomodation and gender equality.
